Senior Payroll Analyst, Global Payroll

OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for timely, processing and review/reconciliation of pre and post payroll activities, including but not limited to processing of daily, weekly and bi-weekly payroll runs using, Work Force Software timekeeping (WFS), STAT inhouse union timekeeping, PeopleSoft v9.2 and SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) systems. Must have the necessary knowledge and expertise to act as the subject matter expert for issues related to payroll and the various systems used. Must have basic knowledge of accounting as it relates to payroll, ensure SOX compliance, adhere to union contracts, and company policies. Must have demonstrated understanding of Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations including tax, wage and hour, and garnishments. Provide support to management and back up for other Senior Payroll Analysts and Sr. and Payroll Administrators. Support system implementations and other special projects, including testing and analysis. Must be able to effectively manage priorities with strong attention to detail.

– Process daily, weekly and biweekly payrolls runs end to end

– Reconciliation of daily payroll related GL posting and bank files

– Ensure employee tax set up is compliant with federal, state and local tax regulations including multistate taxation rules

– Assist with troubleshooting variances with tax filings and process necessary corrections/adjustments

– Take lead role in testing of system updates and other system projects by managing project timelines, creating test scripts, running payroll processes, identifying/resolving errors, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables

– Routinely review/audit payroll documents to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and company policy

– Ensure timely and compliant response/set up of garnishments

– Provide ad hoc reports to management and other departments as needed

– Responsible for maintenance of departmental documentation including procedures

– Ensure that all record keeping meets organization and legal requirements

– Keep abreast of payroll related regulations

– Serve as back up for daily payroll processes, research/resolution of all processing-related errors, reconciliation of payroll loads including time and attendance, travel and entertainment expenses, and residuals

– Process daily and quarterly residual payments for features and TV; quarterly volume in excess of 20,000 payments

– Process Third Party Payments for garnishments and Minors Trust

– Run processes to update union deductions, Minors Trust deductions, and other updates to individual and talent payments

– Administer escheatment (unclaimed property) process, responding to payee requests for payment including ensuring the reversal/reissue process in completed in PeopleSoft and in SAP ECP

– Build/maintain positive relationships with business partners such as Human Resources and IT

– Provide timely and professional customer service

– Special projects as assigned

Back up responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Timely and accurate review/audit of system tables including UI tax rates, union contract pay rates, PH&W rates, occupation codes, union and non-union fringe calculations, pay calendars, earning and deduction codes

– Union fringe reporting and funding

– Tax reconciliation funding/reporting/filing

– Review union contracts and ensure appropriate action is taken to ensure compliance and accurate system calculations

– Perform annual reconciliation of unclaimed Minors Trust deductions and associated reporting/remittance to Actor’s Fund

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

– 7 +years of payroll experience

– Large company experience required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll for North America (v8.9+) and SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) a plus

– Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills required

– Ability to interpret union contracts, company policies and regulations related to payroll

– Ability to understand relationship between HR/Benefits policies/programs and payroll

– Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

– Strong verbal and written communication skills

– Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues

– Ability to prioritize competing demands and work well under pressure

– Must be detail oriented

– Proactive with excellent customer service skills

– Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office suite

– Entertainment industry experience preferred

– CPP strongly preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $72,000.00 – 95,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
