Under general supervision of the PeopleSoft Manager and PeopleSoft Technical Supervisor or their designee, the Senior PeopleSoft Systems Administrator administers the day-to-day PeopleSoft (PS) systems including Financials (FSCM) and Human Resources (HRMS). Responsibilities include administration for all PS production & development environments, development migrations, creating new and refreshing non-production environments, performance tuning, troubleshooting, on-going maintenance and application of patches and upgrades. Mentors and advises other PS support resources and will be responsible for leading application and PeopleTools upgrade projects. This job class is treated as FLSA Exempt.
Distinguishing Features: The Senior PeopleSoft Systems Administrator is distinguished from the PeopleSoft Systems Administrator I and PeopleSoft Systems Administrator II levels by assuming the primary role of PS systems administration leadership. Ensures the successful completion of all projects and mentors the PeopleSoft Systems Administrator levels I and II, thoroughly documents PeopleSoft environments and administration processes, trains and mentors other PeopleSoft System Support (PSS) team members, and coordinates resources across other Information Technology (IT) teams such as DBA and Server teams.

Examples of Tasks
1. Provides technical support and assists other PS support resources to troubleshoot and resolve production support issues for the Web, Application, Batch, File, Network and Database servers. Maintains and monitors PS components such as WebLogic, Tuxedo, Java, Application Server, Process Scheduler, File Server, Integration Broker, and Search Server (Elastic). Supports the PS server, database and security administration needs on a Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft systems infrastructure.
2. Provides configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting assistance for all Peoplesoft HRMS and FSCM interfaces. This includes internal application interfaces at SRPMIC, and external data interfaces with third parties. This includes ensuring these interfaces operate in a secure manner and protect the data and system of SRPMIC.
3. Provides technical support and assists other PS support resources to install new PS environments and refreshes non-production environments.
4. Provides technical support and assists other PS support resources with upgrades to PeopleTools and Application versions in addition to applying application patches and fixes provided by the vendor.
5. Works with PS developers and Functional Specialists in configuring the PS environments. Assists in debugging PS errors with developers and, when needed, opening and managing cases with the vendor.
6. Assists the Information Technology (IT) department with creating and enacting appropriate policies and procedures. Tasks within the policies and procedures include creation of Service Desk tickets, weekly status report, project status reports and other administrative responsibilities.
7. Implements, monitors, tunes and administers the systems that makes up the PS environment. Implements proactive monitoring tools to ensure system performance.
8. Participates in infrastructure planning, database design, data mapping and conversion activities that meet functional and operational requirements as well as IT standards. Communicates appropriately and effectively in verbal and written form with business clients and colleagues. Participates in Team meetings and performs normal administrative duties such as status reporting.
9. Provides technical knowledge while mentoring and advising other PS project team members.
10. Performs duties as a Lead resource while performing tasks associated to application and PeopleTools upgrade projects.
11. Performs other job-related duties as required by PeopleSoft Manager, PeopleSoft Technical Supervisor, Assistant IT Director, Chief Information Officer or designee.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
- Knowledge of the history, customs, culture and traditions of the SRPMIC.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts such as n-tier applications, clustered environments and distributed computing.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Technology Administration including supporting either Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft PeopleTools including Application Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, Application Messaging, Component Interface and PeopleSoft Query.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Integration Broker, Application Messaging and XML.
- Knowledge of PeopleTools and PeopleSoft Internet Architecture including Web, Application and Process Scheduler Servers.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager, Upgrade Assistant and/or Change Assistant tools.
- Knowledge of current versions of MS SQL Server.
- Knowledge and basic familiarity with Oracle/PeopleSoft HRMS (version 9.2 or later) and/or FSCM (version 9.2 or later).
- Knowledge of systems analysis, application planning, development, maintenance and management.
- Knowledge of systems configuration, security and resource monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree from accredited college or university in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline. A graduate degree in computer science is highly desirable.
- Eight (8) years of experience as a Software/Applications Administrator, Developer or Analyst or related discipline.
- Five (5) years of Oracle/PeopleSoft administration.
- Five (5) years experience with PeopleTools and PeopleSoft Internet Architecture including Web, Application and Process Scheduler Servers.
- Five (5) years experience with PeopleSoft Integration Broker, Upgrade Assistant and/or Change Assistant tools.
- Five (5) years of PeopleSoft Technology Administration experience supporting either Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
- Experience working with latest version of People Update Manager (PUM).
- Experience working with current versions of MS SQL Server.
- Demonstrated successful experience with as many of the following as possible is preferred:
- Lead resource during PeopleSoft application and PeopleTools upgrade projects.
- Oracle/PeopleSoft Development and administration tools (including PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Component Interface, Change Assistant, PS Admin, Application Messaging and Query).
- Microsoft Server software products including operating system, IIS, Active Directory, and related products.
- Microsoft Windows 10.
- Data conversion and end user training.
- Experience with creating Application Support documentation.
- Windows Server, WebLogic, and PeopleTools certificate management.
- Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered.

Special Requirements
- May be required to work beyond normal business hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
