Senior Portfolio Cost Manager

To help us achieve our objectives for growth and transformation, we are looking for a Senior Portfolio Cost Manager to support our Cost Management reporting across multiple data center campuses in North & Latin America, working alongside the Regional Cost, Construction, Procurement and Design Director’s to commercially manage all data center construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of templates, categorization of cost drivers and preparation of executive level reporting for data center funding requests, stage gates and early project warning reports.
  • Create clear, concise and scalable report templates in Excel and PowerBi for communicating cost drivers on construction projects.
  • Identify the root cause key cost drivers impacting construction projects and question project teams to ensure the information being presented is clear and accurate.
  • Manage the categorization of cost drivers at various levels of cost reporting.
  • Prepare check estimates, and benchmark costs against similar projects to ensure estimates presented by project teams are sense checked and ready for presentation.
  • Manage the cost function of project funding requests across 50+ projects, including tracking what projects require funding, updating templates and identifying funding strategy with regards to ensuring we are presenting high confidence estimates whilst meeting project schedules.
  • Support the development of workflows to streamline the progression on project cost reporting between Stage Gates, Funding Requests and early project warning reports.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in Construction Cost Estimating or Cost Management
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience

    o OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience managing the estimating or commercials on a major construction portfolio
  • Quantity Surveying degree or Construction Commercial Management degree or Construction degree
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts used internationally, especially in AMERS
  • Deep knowledge and experience of the commercial management role in the procurement of GC contracts and other construction vendors
  • Deep commercial knowledge of construction internationally
  • Understanding financial reporting with capabilities to articulate results in executive level reporting to leadership
  • Trusted focus on collaboration with all other areas of the data center program, be able to think strategically and hold an ability to build the trust of our construction partners needed to agree very large construction GMPs and final accounts
  • RICS full membership (MRICS or FRICS) or equivalent
  • Experience on location in the construction industry

Construction Project Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 – $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 – $195,000 per year.
