Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The Microsoft portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.
We are looking for a passionate, Senior Power Harvesting Engineering Developer to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.

Qualifications:
R equired/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- 1+ years of Software Engineering experience at a large cloud provider
Other Requirements:

- Microsoft Cloud Screen Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Screen background check upon hire/transfer and every two years after that while in this role.

- Experience with big data processing systems or online services
- Experience working with Generative AI
- Experience working with Prompt Engineering
- Understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and how it is used to train and fine-tune language models

- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional partners to understand their requirements and translating them into solutions
- Experience working with .NET open-source developer platform
- Track record of excellence in software engineering, including design, coding, code reviews, testing, and DevOps
- Experience with building, deploying, and operating applications and services on cloud platforms
- Growth mindset with a basic understanding of electrical systems
Software Engineering IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 – $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 – $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will directly support the global DCE Global Power Harvesting & Strategy Team.
Duties to include, but not be limited to the following:
- Perform software development in Python, Java, JavaScript, and other languages.
- Develop software automation solutions to innovate and enhance engineering solutions and streamline engineering processes.
- Collaborate with a diverse and supportive group of Engineers, and Program Managers, to leverage Generative AI technologies (such as speech, vision, natural language processing, machine learning, and more) to solve complex problems.
- Contribute to the overall technical vision and strategy to build scalable solutions.
- Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, schedule deliverables.
- Assess, recommend, and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, and processes from Microsoft and industry.
- Implement and maintain excellent design and development processes.
- Exercise sound software engineering practices and principles.
- Leverage analytical tools and systems to enable deep insights using data.
