The Senior Product and Service Innovation Specialist at Redwood Credit Union assists in identifying and developing innovative products and services, while enhancing current offerings. Responsibilities include conducting consumer, competitor, market and product research, identifying and defining differentiated opportunities, and supporting activities to launch solutions that improve the Member experience and grow the business.
The Job (The Big Stuff):
Product Research & Analysis
• Research consumer and Member financial needs, priorities, behaviors, frustrations, and pain points to develop actionable insights.
• Benchmark product and service offerings of direct competitor banks, credit unions, fintechs, and others.
• Analyze market and Member data, demographics, behaviors, and metrics.
• Assess current-state products, services, and processes.
• Develop in-depth product knowledge and relationships in assigned product areas within Redwood Credit Union, such as Deposits, Business Services, or Lending.
• Deliver consumer, competitive, and data-driven insights to support product development
Product Development
• Prioritize, recommend, and develop strategically differentiated products and services in support of organizational goals and priorities.
• Design and facilitate internal meetings and workshops to identify, craft, rework, socialize, and advance innovation opportunities.
• Define product and service value propositions, benefits, features, and business requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working in financial services product management or product development.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research, document findings, and make recommendations.
- Proven ability to analyze problems and challenges, identify and evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, including verbal, written, and presentation skills. Able to prepare and present reports and presentations of analysis, insights, and recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
The ideal candidate has
- Experience with deposit products or small business banking services.
- Strong quantitative analysis aptitude with high attention to detail and accuracy and ability to extract insights from data.
- Experience in product discovery, design thinking or other innovation discovery techniques.
- Familiarity with behavioral finance/behavioral economics and consumer financial decision making.
- Skillful facilitation of high impact conversations with the ability to build consensus
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Compensation: Base starting range: $41.00 to $54.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
