Senior Product Manager, Fire TV Business Planning

The Fire TV Demand Generation team is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own business planning and sales forecasting for our new lineup of Amazon Fire TV smart TVs. You will be the owner of highly strategic business planning initiatives; work with a cross-functional team of Sales, Product, Operations, Supply and Demand Planning, Finance, Device Economics, Demand Science, and Business Intelligence professionals to develop and execute a multi-year strategy to continue growing the Fire TV business globally. This is a high visibility role with frequent opportunities to interact with and present to leadership. We are seeking someone who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, highly analytical, and excels at earning trust across multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for long-range planning, possesses strong business acumen required to develop business cases for new product launches, and be comfortable using data to continuous optimize sales forecasting.

Key job responsibilities

The Senior Product Manager, Fire TV Business Planning role is responsible for developing the sales forecast and business case for new product launches, defining our pre-launch and monthly build/manufacturing strategy, and then working with the sales team to continuously optimize our bottom-up sales forecasting. This role will work closely with finance and supply chain teams to understand component prices (i.e. TV panels) and category pricing trends, and use these inputs to influence pricing strategy and demand forecasting. Additionally, this role will partner with the Demand Science and Device Economics teams to pilot and launch new science-driven forecasting capabilities as we strive to become a world-class TV business. This individual will lead a broad and cross-functional set of stakeholders across Amazon Devices. They need to be business savvy enough to partner with Sales, Product, and Operations professionals; and analytical enough to influence Economists, Scientists, and Business Intelligence professionals.

A day in the life

– Develop the sales forecast and business case for new product launches. Partner with Product, GTM, Operations, and Finance teams to influence smart TV product roadmap

– Define the pre-launch and monthly build/manufacturing strategy; and influence global supply allocation strategy in partnership with Supply and Demand Planning teams

– Improve forecasting capabilities and partner with the Sales team to optimize bottom-up sales forecasts for long-range planning cycles (i.e. OP1/OP2) and near-term deliverables (i.e. quarterly guidance, monthly R&O)

– Partner with the Demand Science and Device Economics teams to pilot and launch new “Hands Off the Wheel” science-driven forecasting capabilities

– Act as subject matter expert for component price trends (i.e. TV panels) and category pricing trends; incorporating these inputs into sales forecasting and business planning

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

– Experience with end to end product delivery

– Experience in areas such as market research, statistics, finance or qualitative/quantitative research

– Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in quantitative and qualitative research

– Experience in online or digital advertising

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
