Senior Product Manager- Technical, Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging

Are you motivated to drive significant packaging waste reduction efforts across Amazon’s global organization? Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging team (MSP) is looking for an experienced, driven, and analytical Sr. Product Manager-Technical with outstanding leadership skills to lead a critical component of Amazon’s Climate Pledge. MSP sets the global, multi-year strategic packaging vision to drive waste and cost reduction and contribute directly to Amazon’s Climate Pledge goals. Our products are public facing and provide a unique opportunity to interact with end customers on every order. The Ship In Own Container (SIOC) standards team to which this role will report owns enabling new SIOC standards by removing both operational and technical restrictions that prevent products from shipping as SIOC today. This role will own creating the vision and being the impetus for the delivery of new SIOC standards through engineering and operations organizations to achieve our Climate Pledge Goals.

Key job responsibilities

You will be successful in this role if you can (1) Dive Deep into existing technical design and operations processes and Think Big to innovate SIOC expansion opportunities, (2) flex analytical skills using SQL and Excel to understand the potential value of new programs in terms of forecasted SIOC shipment volume, (3) collaborate and influence priorities of cross-functional tech and non-tech organizations to rapidly deliver scalable solutions for both short- and long-term needs, and (4) independently identify and lead a cross-functional tech and non-tech team to close gaps in achievement of forecasts. You must be comfortable deep diving large data sets, understanding complexities of technical design, engaging and influencing stakeholders, and solving problems independently. You will have high ownership of your work, as proven by a record of driving projects to their completion. You are detail-oriented, agile, with strong time management, communication, and project management skills, and have experience working across Amazon’s Supply Chain. Finally, you are comfortable working through ambiguity and driving large-scale changes in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with fast delivery time and rapid iteration.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree

– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

– Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

– Experience managing technical products or online services

– Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

– Travel 25% of the time, generating on-the-ground conversations, insights, and regional improvements

– Experience using stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to articulate complex problems clearly

– Proven record of driving projects and strategic initiatives to their completion, through others

– Strong structured thinking and problem solving, including analytical skills and the ability to write SQL scripts for analysis and reporting

– Experience working with business owners and technical resources to deliver products to world-wide markets

– Experience working independently with high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

– Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
