Job Responsibilities

This is a “Project” position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

This position focuses M&R station project work, providing technical assistance through the application of engineering and business knowledge, maintain and develop M&R station design criteria and integrate new equipment into existing or new designs. The position provides hands on technical skills in the installation, inspection, calibration, preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of M&R Stations.
This position requires a highly skilled level of performance in all aspects of operations, maintenance, and installation in M&R stations, LPA, and the LNG plant, and must perform all work in compliance with installation, and operating and maintenance procedures thus insuring the integrity of the natural gas distribution system throughout the state. This includes the ability to understand, operate, maintain, and repair all relevant equipment; prepare and perform operations and maintenance training programs for related facilities; and collect data, prepare regulatory inspection reports and interact with regulatory agencies during inspection of M&R, LNG, and LPA facilities.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • High School graduate
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in gas metering & regulating or related industrial operations and maintenance.
  • At least 3 solid years of proven process instrumentation troubleshooting skills along with mechanical or electrical experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Safety Sensitive Position – D.O.T. tests and OQ testing required.
  • Ability to evaluate and assess operational data to select appropriate action or techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player, self motivated results orientated, analytical, and excellent judgment skills.

Note: Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record record.

Desired:

  • Associate or two year technical degree in mechanical, electronic, controls or related field.
  • Solid, diverse background in hands-on mechanical, instrument and electrical skills with experience with troubleshooting equipment used in M&R Stations and Plants.
  • Excellent knowledge and working experience with a wide variety of electronic and pneumatic calibrators, as well as natural gas, propane and liquid natural gas equipment.
  • Fundamental personal computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Maintenance management System (SAP) and many proprietary software programs, such as Mon, Opto Control suite, GMACS.
  • Knowledge of basic gas and cryogenic properties, theories and principles.
