Communications Sr Manager

GDIT’s Strategy and Performance Group (SPG) is looking for an experienced, versatile Senior Communications Manager to support an array of communications activities for multiple functional areas of a federal government organization with a particular focus on forced labor prevention initiatives. The successful candidate will manage a team of skilled professionals to support creation and implementation of communications plans and products tailored to internal and external stakeholder audiences. The candidate also will welcome the chance to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, distributed-work environment.
HOW A SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Manages the development, revision and delivery of internal and external communications materials.
Gather requirements and develop communications plans and work products per government direction, including development of task-based work plans
Prioritize team workload based on guidance from government program lead
Assign workload to contractor workstream staff
Provide quality assurance and reviews on work products
Supervise and provide expert guidance to team members
Support ongoing interaction/relations with the key external stakeholder groups including trade community members and civil society organizations
Coordinate and facilitate information- and requirements-gathering meetings and other activities focused on specific policy initiatives
Create and maintain documentation for tracking project status and progress for the use of multiple stakeholder groups
Engage in regular client lead interaction to provide project status updates and recommendations for processes and execution of team activities to achieve program objectives
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Must have a CBP BI/Level 5 public trust clearance with background investigation
15 years of experience managing projects for federal government clients performing strategic communications in an international trade or law enforcement setting
10 years relevant supervisory experience
Familiarity with international trade issues such as, CBP automated trade systems (e.g., ACE) import/export process, CBP trade programs (e.g., forced labor), etc., and knowledge of trade community stakeholders involved in international trade
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum principles
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to coordinate task activities, timelines and communication among various stakeholders during project execution
Ability to adapt to evolving/changing project requirements
Ability to manage and execute multiple assignments simultaneously

The likely salary range for this position is $92,000 – $138,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
