This position is part of the Get the Lead Out Of Schools (GLOS) Program charged with assisting Missouri schools in successfully implementing and complying with the Get the Lead Out of School Drinking Water Act to help reduce children’s exposure to lead. The purpose of the position is to promote compliance with the Act through outreach and education on the health risks associated with lead poisoning. This position will develop health education materials and implement public health strategies. This position is a part of the Healthy Drinking Water Unit in the Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as the GLOS Program and Healthy Drinking Water Unit Outreach Coordinator.
- Develop various educational strategies in health promotion and outreach activities.
- Work closely with school districts, establishing relationships, providing health education strategies for students, teachers and administrators.
- Develop health education materials and ensure adequate availability of health education materials for distribution.
- Work with program team members to implement environmental health educational activities.
- Attend community action group and other stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
- Assist in the processing of GLOS applications, contracts and reports.
- Participate on special projects as assigned.
- Lead K-12 schools indoor air quality project, including promoting services and resources available to Missouri K-12 schools; monitoring the purchase order use; tracking, reviewing and ok’ing invoices; providing technical assistance to schools on resources available; and reporting to leadership about ongoing project status and final reports.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- A high level of commitment, and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
