Legal and General America is looking for a Senior QA Analyst to provide testing and assurance support for a leading technology platform in the financial services industry.

The Senior QA Analyst will be responsible for testing software solutions and ensuring a smooth implementation of enhancements that meet the needs of our business partners. The Senior QA Analyst will contribute to, and improve, the testing principles and frameworks that have been put into place at LGA. The Senior QA Analyst will provide both functional assurance and have a comprehensive understanding of the business areas within which the software is used. They will strive to not only identify standard defects, but also find potential business process gaps during the solutioning and design phases.

Responsibilities

  • Drive test execution within targeted timelines through a mastery of test execution strategies, including modern techniques such as Agile, Shift Left, CI/CD and BDD.
  • Develop and implement test plans as necessary to meet testing objectives.
  • Independently execute testing across multiple, complex assignments to ensure software changes meet business needs without adverse impacts.
  • Gain a working understanding of Legal and General America as a business and contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for customers.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced QA Analysts in testing methodologies, practices, techniques and provide input on career development.
  • Drive test efforts ensuring consistent test execution, defect management and traceability.
  • Provide and review testing estimation and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with business, development, and testing leaders to develop and build consensus on test plans, timelines, resources and technology (including Automation) needs.
  • Develop relationships across business and technology stakeholders to drive test execution, resolve issues and ensure effective communication and delivery.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and apply to projects as appropriate.
  • Leverage metrics and KPI’s to report on testing progress, release quality and to surface potential issues faster.
  • Participate in the change control process and ensure the integrity and quality of the release.

Qualifications

Education

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR equivalent years of work experience.

Experience/Knowledge

  • 6+ years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance including writing, reviewing, and executing test plans and test scripts.
  • 2+ years of experience coaching, mentoring and leading testing resources.
  • Experience with life insurance business processes and transactions a plus.
  • Experience in manual software testing including writing, reviewing, and executing test plans and test scripts.
  • Testing experience in Microsoft Windows environments and web-based experiences.
  • Knowledge of complete Software Development Life Cycle
  • Intermediate level of hands-on SQL / Relational DB knowledge
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries.
  • Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable.
  • Experience with Agile and interactive development processes.

Technical Skills

  • Professional experience working with C#, .NET Core, .NET Frameworks
  • Professional experience working with Web Services, Micro-services, SQL, Entity Framework, HTML, HTML5, CSS, Responsive Design
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and TCM such as Zephyr and Test Rail
  • Knowledge of version control techniques using Git or BitBucket
  • Experience with application deployment in the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Experience with performance / security testing is a significant value add.
  • Experience working with legacy technologies (Delphi, COBOL) is a significant value add
  • Test Automation experience / knowledge of methodologies significant value add

Recommended Certifications

  • Azure and ISTQB Foundations or Higher

What’s in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $101,300 – $139,250 annually.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
