As a Senior Quantitative UX Researcher, you will use your data insight skills to influence impactful projects and long-term strategic explorations, especially in Generative AI. Your role will be pivotal in validating our belief that good UX equates to good business.
You will d ive into telemetry/instrumentation datasets to uncover patter ns of beh avior and connect those to gaps in the customer experience and op portunities for business impact . We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas to the table, establish a data -driven perspective to steer product strategy, and exhibit leadership, research, storytelling, and organizational skills. Essential to the role is business acumen and the capacity to collaborate effectively across teams.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 4+ years User Experience Research experience
- OR Master’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years User Experience Research experience
- OR Doctorate in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 1+ year(s) User Experience Research experience
- OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a UX researcher, conducting user research studies and providing actionable insights to inform product design decisions.
- Experience as a Data Scientist conducting statistical analysis and data modeling to uncover patterns and trends in large data sets.
- Experience in data querying languages ( e.g. SQL), scripting languages ( e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software ( e.g. R, SAS , Matlab, etc.) .
- Experience in data analysis, including data extraction, cleansing, manipulation, and visualization .
- Presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
UX Research IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 – $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 – $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with data scientists and data analysts to d efine user – level behavioral telemetry in our product portfolio.
- D evelop data collection and statistical analysis strategies, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop an understanding of technical and non-technical users of Microsoft Security products to ensure we are designing solutions that meet their expectations.
- Identify key metrics and establish a UX measurement framework to measure the effectiveness of UX improvements and track user engagement.
- Conduct quantitative user research studies and integrate these insights with existing qualitative research to identify user needs, preferences, and pain points.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define research objectives and incorporate insights into the product development process.
- Utilize analytic tools and techniques to analyze very large data sets, derive meaningful insights, and uncover patterns and trends related to user behavior.
- Present research findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and through visual presentations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX research and data analysis and apply them to enhance our research methodologies and techniques.
