Responsibilities
Peraton is looking for an AppDynamics Software Engineer to join our team of highly skilled, dedicated, and motivated cleared professionals supporting the Department of State (DoS) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to provide IT Operations and Maintenance to networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of a distributed AppDynamics fault, performance, and trend analytics system.
- Install, Configuration, and Tuning of the following AppDynamics Servers: Controller, Event Service Cluster, End User Monitoring, ADA, ADRUM.
- Works independently with customers to collect requirements and engineer monitoring solutions through customer acceptance.
- Tracks own work and backlog, familiar with Agile methodology.
- Prioritize own work in accordance with customer priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Communicates efficiently and effectively both written and verbal.
- Reviews system design and works to continuously improve stability and efficiencies.
- Provides system backup recovery methodology and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
- Maintains security and integrity controls.
- Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to system management, and monitors system resource utilization.
- Works with minimal direction as a seasoned resource.
- Performs Tier III support for management systems, client/server and web-based applications.
- Support customer initiatives in their transition towards modernization.
- Responsible for reducing operational downtime for critical, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance by accelerating deployments of approved changes/fixes/updates and solutions and automate manual maintenance, deployment, diagnostic health checks, validation, and reporting.
- Responsible for creating proactive and reactive monitoring methods, generating customer alerts within the Enterprise Event Management and Monitoring capability.
- Responsible to log all problems/incidents into the Ticket Management System.
- Cooperate with Department of State audits, reviews, evaluations, tests, processes, and facilities.
- Understands MSP IT methodology and the software development lifecycle.
- Skilled at user requirement gathering and can work independently to craft efficient monitoring, alarming solutions, and dashboards.
- Understands the Agile process.
- Ability to operationally support the underlying database as necessary.
- Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC)).
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years experience or Masters degree and 3-5 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Two (2) years AppDynamics software experience.
- Advanced ability to read and understand telemetry to assist with application troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3.
- Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC).
- Familiarity with Java programming and/or code debugging/testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Develops solutions to a variety of problems of advanced scope and complexity.
- Represents organization on specific projects, may make presentations to small groups.

Range for Posting
Salary Minimum: $57,500
Salary Mid: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $143,800
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees.
