Amazon Air is seeking a Senior Regional Manager to join its Airport Affairs and Operations Strategy team. This role acts as Amazon Air’s singular voice with airport executives, landlords and real estate developers to deliver innovated solutions on behalf of our customers.
Amazon is seeking a leader with a strong background in relationship management, project delivery at the strategic and tactical level, often in an ambiguous and fast moving environment. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
– Leads infrastructure initiatives from inception to completion
– Develop and maintain relationships with airport authorities and other government agencies
– Ensures that Amazon Air’s key strategic priorities are represented and accounted for with airport stakeholders
– Negotiate airport real estate and operating agreements
– Take a lead role in the scope, design and construction of airport related infrastructure
– Manages required environmental review processes (e.g., NEPA, CEQA) with relevant governmental agencies
– Liaise with internal departments, airports, and air carriers to resolve airport related operational issues and conflicts
– Manage full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations
– Development of the overall program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver
– Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions
– Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from third-party solutions, security not considered, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.)
– Travel up to 25% of the time

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of program or project management experience
– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
– Bachelor’s degree
– 2+ years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably in real estate, airport, ground or flight operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
– Master’s degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
– 5+ years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably in real estate, airport, ground or flight operations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
