Responsibilities

What you’ll be challenged to do:

OPC, a division of TranSystems, has an immediate opening for a Senior Relocation Agent who, under minimal to no supervision, performs basic right of way (ROW) project tasks for the temporary or permanent relocation of residential owners and tenants affected by public and private projects, in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, codes, and regulations and serves as a representative of clients who have contracted with OPC to perform relocation project tasks.

Primary Responsibilities (others may be asigned):

  • Responsible for delivering high quality relocation assistance services to a diverse clientele.
  • Leads project efforts to successfully relocate (temporarily and/or permanently) residential tenants and owner-occupants, and business owners.
  • Manages the displacee interview process to ensure quality in establishing relocation needs and special requirements.
  • Negotiates independently with property owners, tenants, movers, and other related relocation entities to meet expected outcomes on schedule.
  • Prepares and coordinates the logistics of the moves included as part of relocation projects.
  • Maintains complete and accurate casefiles, pursuant to OPC and project specific requirements.
  • Supervises the work of project teams assigned to relocation cases and projects.
  • Engages in staff development, goal setting, maintaining safety parameters, and discipline as necessary.
  • Provides staff and project teams support and tools for managing challenging cases.
  • Basic knowledge in developing an approach and scope of work.
  • Successful track record in delivering projects on time, on-budget, and within the expectations of client.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, sociology, or other relevant degree program; experience may be substituted for education on a case-by-case basis.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in providing housing and/or business relocation services to private and public sector clients.
  • Valid Drivers’ License and the ability to provide valid proof of auto insurance.
  • Proven ability to establish rapport with a wide range of people from diverse socioeconomic sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide supervisory guidance and outreach to more junior staff.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple project components simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Solid supervisory skills
  • Ability to work successfully with an inexperienced project team, delegating effectively.
  • Ability to display empathy to professionally navigate through a wide range of circumstances.
  • Knowledge of fundamental workforce managerial tactics and approaches to staff development
  • Bilingual is beneficial, particularly in Spanish.
  • Self-motivated and maintain a positive teamwork-oriented attitude in a busy office environment.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse work groups including co-workers, clients, vendors, and claimants.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:

  • Intermediate level: Microsoft Suite, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Email.
  • SharePoint experience desired
  • Ideal traits: positive; responsible; responsive; highly organized; analytical; strong written and oral communication skills.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or NY City, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 – $90,000 annually.
