Arcadis seeks a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team in Atlanta, GA.

Role description:

As a Senior Roadway Engineer at Arcadis in Atlanta, GA, you will be responsible for working on infrastructure projects related to roadways. This includes intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and interstate interchanges. The role involves addressing complex highway design challenges for clients such as the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), other State DOTs, and municipalities. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead roadway design as a professional engineering discipline for projects of varying size and scope.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff and design/drafters.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, manage production, and ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, including quality and safety standards.
  • Interact with client technical staff, make presentations, and manage client expectations.
  • Perform various roles on multi-disciplined projects, such as QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design leader, or client-facing project manager.
  • Prepare written reports, calculations, and other design documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Georgia Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.

Key Skills/Attributes:

  • Experience in task management within infrastructure design and construction engineering, including cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays.
  • Proficiency with software tools like MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak, InRoads, and 3D Design.
  • Strong familiarity with GDOT design standards and policies.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible individual with initiative and ability to tackle new projects and challenges.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations, and prepare written reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in interchange design.
  • GDOT roadway design experience.
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

The salary range for this position is $97600 – $146400.
