Senior Sales Executive (Remote optional)

About Prism Data

Prism Data is the pioneer of cash flow underwriting, a breakthrough new approach that is

bringing the credit system into the 21st century. More than 50 million people in the United

States lack a traditional credit score, leaving them effectively shut out of the system. Credit

reports can be inaccurate and stale, and lack important information about a borrower’s financial

wellbeing. Almost everyone, however, has a bank account or deposit product, rich with

transactional data that is more timely and accurate than traditional credit data. Prism uses

cutting-edge ML to transform raw bank account transaction data into powerful insights and

scores that provide a differentiated, incremental view of risk – to use alone where no credit

information is available, or to complete the picture of a consumer’s financial life.

We’ve enabled lenders to approve thousands of consumers with no credit score who actually

perform as well as prime borrowers. We’ve helped financial institutions improve loss rates by as

much as 30%. And we’ve unlocked countless new opportunities to enhance the status quo in

financial services. Over the last several years, we’ve honed our technology across billions of

dollars in loan originations and millions of consumer credit applications – experience that has

resulted in maturity, reliability, compliance, and predictive power that is unrivaled in the market

today. Having recently spun out of Petal, we are now fully independent and are laser-focused

on broadening Prism’s reach in the market. We’re supporting a growing number of partners

today, are piloting with leading fintechs and some of the largest banks in the country, and we’re

just getting started. We’re excited to help our partners solve big problems and power the next

generation of financial innovation, and are looking for the right people to join our team and help

us do exactly that. To learn more, visit www.prismdata.com.

At Prism, we’re looking for people who are both high-performing and low-ego that want to win

together. We’re building a game-changing company with an important mission from the ground

up-an experience both incredibly rewarding and incredibly challenging. We’re a small,

close-knit team where every member is significant and every member is expected to make an

impact. If this sounds like the right environment for you, even if you don’t meet exactly the

requirements in our job description, we invite you to apply!

The Senior Sales Executive Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sales Executive to join our growing

team. In this role, you will be responsible for selling Prism Data’s cash flow underwriting

solutions to banks and credit unions. Our CashScore, Insights, and Income products are

powered by open banking data, providing valuable insights into borrowers’ financial behavior

and creditworthiness. As a Senior Sales Executive, you will leverage your deep industry

knowledge and network (specifically in credit risk), consultative selling skills, and understanding

of open banking concepts to position our solutions as a game-changer in the credit risk

management landscape, particularly as open banking takes hold in the United States.

Key responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to promote and sell Prism’s solutions to banks and credit unions.
    • Identify and target key decision-makers within financial institutions, including risk executives and other senior business leaders, educating them on the benefits and potential of cash flow underwriting, and Prism’s products, in particular.
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with prospective clients, understanding their specific needs and tailoring solutions to address their challenges effectively.
    • Contribute to the growth of the sales organization by joining in its early stages and actively participating in scaling it up.
    • Present and demonstrate Prism’s solutions to clients, effectively showcasing how the utilization of Prism’s products can enhance risk assessment and lending practices.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, data science, product, marketing, and customer success, to share learnings and ensure alignment.
    • Prepare and deliver clear and persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and business cases. Lead engagement with prospects on contracts, negotiating business terms and pricing.
    • Track and report sales performance metrics, including pipeline development, revenue forecasts, and achievement against targets.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations, advancements, competitive landscape, and emerging trends related to open banking and credit risk management, effectively positioning our solutions as innovative and future-ready.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, providing expert insights and guidance on credit scoring best practices in the context of cash flow underwriting, open banking and its evolving landscape.
    • Represent Prism at industry conferences and networking events, to grow your network, generate new leads, and further develop existing opportunities.

Characteristics of a successful candidate:

    • Strong network of contacts within the financial sector, including risk executives and senior decision-makers.
    • Proven track record of success in B2B sales (running the full spectrum sales cycle), particularly in selling credit scoring or underwriting solutions or financial services software to banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions.
    • Extensive knowledge of credit risk management, lending practices, and regulatory frameworks within the banking industry.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets, with a strong focus on revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
    • Interest in joining a sales organization in its early stages and contributing to its growth over time.
    • Familiarity with open banking concepts, trends, and providers, particularly as they pertain to the United States market.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and speak persuasively to a diverse audience (including technical and non-technical stakeholders).
    • Exceptional negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to build trust and influence key stakeholders.
    • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the aptitude to understand clients’ challenges and provide innovative solutions.
    • Proficient in CRM software (preferably HubSpot) and other sales productivity tools.
    • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
