Description
The Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking Seasonal/lntermittent class instructor applicants to provide instruction for a specific skill area such as computer skills, painting, drawing, arts & crafts, jewelry making, piano, singing, sign language, Spanish, Tai chi, yoga, aerobics, exercise, strength training, line dancing, and other specialty skills. Classes will be held in-person (indoor or outdoor) and virtually on Microsoft TEAMS.
Salary range is $15.00 per hour to $33.50 per hour depending on education, certifications and years of experience.
Examples of Important Duties
Ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service to class patrons, have experience with class instruction for seniors, keep attendance records, and communicate closely with staff and class participants.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must attain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications. Must attend all mandatory trainings.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees
Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.
If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
