Senior Site Environment and Safety Engineer

Moog is looking for a Senior Environment and Safety Engineer to join our EHS team. You will use your expertise to ensure the facility remains compliant with environmental and safety regulations. Reporting to the EHS Manager and Site General Manager, you will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.

As a Senior Environment and Safety Engineer, you will:

  • Manage and assure that Federal and State environmental and safety regulations applicable to the Torrance facility are met.
  • Manage site specific Environmental and Safety policies and training programs to assure compliance with the Site, Business Group and Corporate requirements.
  • Partner with all functional managers /supervisors on site to implement regulatory requirements
  • Lead role in representing the site during any compliance audits, both internal and external. Ensure audit findings are responded to and corrected.
  • Coordinate the Sites’ emergency planning; including being available 24/7 for responding to site chemical, environmental and safety emergencies. This includes being site’s lead emergency coordinator in emergencies involving hazardous materials releases or other safety/environmental emergencies.
  • Provide environmental and safety support to Program Management and Engineering to support customer contract terms and conditions. Tasks may require creation of additional program specific hazardous materials management programs or implementation of industry specific certification programs.
  • Oversee other personnel on site responsible for environmental and safety compliance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot air pollution and wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Must have or obtain certification to hazardous waste management rules for California within 6 months of hire date and must then retain certification annually.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in chemical or environmental engineering, safety, EHS, or other technical discipline)
  • 6+ years of experience in environmental and safety regulatory compliance; experience in a manufacturing setting is desirable
  • Experience with federal, California state and Los Angeles County regulatory agencies for environmental and safety compliance
  • This position requires access to United States export-controlled information

Salary Range:

California Residents: Pay range for this opportunity is $105,000 – $130,000, annually
