Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly motivated Data Acquisition Developer for our Broomfield, CO location. This is an onsite role that can work off site 1 or 2 days per week (Hybrid). You will participate in the design, development, and maintenance of code within our Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure data platforms to directly support a series of complex cloud-based customer applications. You will work on a team of talented engineers responsible for the full lifecycle of production software applications – including large data volumes and data storage systems. Data acquisition, transformation, and analytics will be a primary function of this position. Ideal candidate also has the skill and experience to perform some system administration duties (up to 10%). Relocation assistance to the Broomfield, CO area is available.

Your responsibilities

  • Support business results by ensuring mission critical data collections/flow required by the Velocity Suite product line continue without interruption
  • Increase scalability and decrease maintenance burden of current and future data acquisition scripts and processes
  • Communicate and collaborate on a scrum team and across all teams to drive excellent quality in all processes
  • Contribute to our team’s growing set of development platforms, tools, and processes especially within the area of Business Intelligence
  • Support analysts and client support teams with analyses and process improvements
  • Adhere to and collaborate to continually evolve our code standards

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 1-6 years of related professional experience
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the U.S.
  • Experience using Python and Object-Oriented Design Principles and patterns
  • Master’s degree and 3 or more years of related experience preferred
  • Experience with source code management tools (e.g., Git)
  • Systems Administration certification/experience in Linux and/or Microsoft is a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based systems on Azure or AWS a plus
  • “For Colorado Residents and Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $130,000”
