The selected candidate will join the Wildfire Tranche 1 Transport Layer (T1TL) team in developing capabilities for the Space Development Agency (SDA).
T1TL is a mesh network of over one hundred optically interconnected satellites that provides a resilient, low-latency, high-volume data transport communication system. T1TL will provide global communications access and deliver persistent regional encrypted connectivity in support of Warfighter missions around the globe by serving as the backbone for Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) built on low-latency data transport and sensor-to-shooter connectivity.
The selected candidate will join the Wildfire program’s Agile (scrum) Software Development Team. Typical Agile responsibilities include participation in daily scrums, sprint/release planning, demos, and retrospectives. Development responsibilities include software design, code and unit test, investigation into ad-hoc issues, and the ability to analyze and resolve complex mission problems quickly and independently.

The responsibilities include supporting the software design and development activities using the best software development practices.
The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain a clearance, but the clearance is not required to start.
This position offers the ability to work remotely when feasible. There will be occasional needs to work onsite.
Basic Qualifications:
• Software development experience and proficiency in C++ and Linux
• Familiar with network protocols, packets forwarding concepts
• Ability to obtain US government Security Clearance (not required to start)
Desired Skills:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in requirements definitions
• Familiar with Interface Control Document (ICD) definitions
• Experience in developing software in satellite communication domain and a good understanding of the related software architecture

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $85,900 – $164,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
