The Platform Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer; this team builds automation and services that focus on infrastructure configuration, management, orchestration, and observability. The team plays an active role working with feature teams to enable innovation and reduce time to market, by providing the toolset for modern application and infrastructure development, deployment, and observability.
We have broad goals of where we want to be, but we need your expertise in achieving them, while supporting mission-critical system infrastructure and enabling large-scale distributed systems. You will be part of a team that builds the foundation to support a hybrid cloud environment, developing tools and processes that have a direct impact on how application developers deploy and manage their applications on an elastic infrastructure.
We would like to see someone who has:
- 5+ years, or equivalent demonstration, of relevant work experience in software development
- Extensive experience in infrastructure and/or DevOps engineering, with expertise in general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, Java)
- A professional history of consistently executing with agility resulting in high-quality outcomes
- Experience designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact
- Hands-on technical leadership experience leading technical initiatives and setting technical direction for other engineers
- Experience coaching others with a demonstration of significant improvement of their technical capabilities
As a member of the Platform Engineering team at StubHub, you’ll be able to:
- Build out an automated infrastructure configuration, provisioning, and management solution
- Improve our application build and deployment system, moving us towards automated rollouts
- Own and evolve our observability platform, with significant responsibility around the design and development of features and tools
- Guide the organization’s migration to cloud native technologies, including POC/investigations around the direction/functionality we want to support
- Help build a team and cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and executing projects across multiple teams, fostering a culture of inclusion, results-oriented execution, open innovation, and limitless creativity
- Manage individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise
- Mentor and train other team members and help many increase their technical capabilities
- Champion process and culture improvements within the Engineering organization

The anticipated gross base annual salary range for this role is $200,000 – $350,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
