The Boeing Missile Defense National Team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (DevSecOps Engineer) to support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) DevSecOps team to develop and deploy Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability. The software engineer will assist in the system administration of multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a critical customer program . Our teams work with the top tier DevOps practices and tooling (HashiCorp Tools, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible Tower, and Nexus Pro).
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense and combatant commanders at strategic, regional and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to collectively see the battle develop, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Work on systems administration-related issues with hardware and software for different network environments.
- Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
- Propose system administration process improvement to reduce overall maintenance requirements by working with the design team and manufacturers.
- Determines systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system configuration maintenance.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
- Develops and recommends corrective actions.
- May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. ( Colorado Springs, CO)
This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical degree
- 3+ years’ experience working in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Qualifications) :
- 3+ years’ experience supporting and/or working on any cloud-related technology or solution
- 3+ years’ experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, GitLab, Nexus, or other equivalent technology
- Experience with Linux/UNIX or Windows system administration.
- Experience with a shell scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD industry.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially VMware, to include infrastructure and automation of those environments.
- Skills in logical/physical architecture modeling and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline architecture, RAM, Mission Assurance, Safety, and cyber security concepts are helpful.
- Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
- Able to work independently / solo at times on large projects; at other times, will be in a collaborative team environment with other DevSecOps engineers and other program development and deployment teams.
Typical Education/Experience :
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for senior level: $122,400 – $165,600
