The Position
East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites qualified applicants to apply for this Temporary Construction (TC) position (up to five years) in the Applications Division of the Information Systems Department (ISD). EBMUD is seeking a motivated professional with intermediate experience in PeopleSoft HRIS development and maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in PeopleSoft development and maintenance with a focus on HRIS modules. Experience in Pension system implementation and integration is desirable and experience with HRIS Version 8.8 is preferred.
EBMUD is implementing a full HRIS replacement in two phases, starting with the Pension phase, followed by the HRIS core replacement. The successful candidate will participate in both phases of the implementation. They will collaborate with HR and other departments to gather requirements and develop solutions, design, develop, and maintain extracts, data clean up functionality, conversions, and integrations, perform unit testing, support system testing efforts, and troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data clean up, conversions and integrations. During implementation the candidate may also be requested to assist with maintenance activities to support the existing HRIS system before the HRIS core phase goes live.
This is not a remote work only position and is based at EBMUD’s Administration Building located in downtown Oakland, CA. The current long-term telecommute guidelines permit ISD employees to telecommute up to three days per week and require work from the office at least two days per week.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
• Collaborate with HR and other departments to gather requirements and develop solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain PeopleSoft HRIS modules.
• Understand and navigate the PeopleSoft HRIS data structures.
• Develop customizations, data clean up scripts, extracts, conversions, and integrations as needed.
• Perform unit testing and support system testing efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PeopleSoft HRIS modules.
• Provide technical support to end-users.

Requirements
1. Completion of four years of college resulting in graduation or its equivalent, and
2. Three years of systems analysis and programming experience developing business applications for computer systems including one year at a level comparable to or higher than EBMUD’s class of Programmer Analyst II. Experience may require demonstrated use and expertise in specific programming languages or IT specialties relevant to the position vacancy.
3. Must possess physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the job.
4. Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
