Senior Software Engineer; Workday Payroll, Absence and Time-Tracking

The Senior Software Engineer – Workday PATT configures the Workday HRIS based on business requirements developed in partnership with cross-functional HR and IT teams and in support of organizational goals. The individual in this position will closely partner with Payroll and Benefits teams to understand business needs, define system requirements and configure Workday Payroll, Absence and Time-Tracking components and business processes in support of an exceptional associate experience. This individual will partner with IT developers to offer business process subject matter expertise for the development of IT integrations.

Responsibilities

Partnering with Payroll and Benefits teams as well as other teams throughout Humana, the Senior Software Engineer – Workday PATT will understand the current and future business needs and identify and configure HR Systems to support those needs. The current ecosystem is anchored with experiences built on Workday. This individual will work as part of the Workday systems business process configuration team within HR, engaging in standardized processes to ensure stability of our platforms through constant evolution without adversely impacting the current business process configuration or associate experience. Continuously working to improve the associate experience, this individual will closely partner with Payroll and Benefits teams to better understand their strategy as well as to help identify current and future technology solutions to meet their needs. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for cultivating a deep knowledge of their individual workstream within Workday, including features and functionality that are not yet utilized by Humana but may be of benefit to the organization. Leveraging their subject matter expertise, this individual will partner with IT developers when Workday integrations are developed and will offer business process framework support and consultation services to IT throughout integration development. This individual will partner with others on the Workday configuration team to understand impacts of various change requests throughout the system. As issues or questions arise, they will serve as tier 3 support to end users of the system, consistently working to ensure an ideal associate experience. With the associate at the center of design decisions, this individual will consistently work to ensure the supported workstreams enable associates to efficiently and effectively function within Workday and other HR systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Three+ years of experience configuring Workday specifically in Payroll, Absence and Time-Tracking workstreams
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues through Workday reporting and business process configuration
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, positive working relationships
  • User-focused design experience or experience planning and designing with the end user in mind
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and tools to communicate, track, document, and analyze the utilization of HR systems
  • Demonstrated strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Experience working as part of an interdependent team supporting an enterprise HR application
  • Ability to influence and coach without hierarchical responsibility
  • Ability to engage partners and primary system users to co-develop complex technical solutions leveraging Workday business process framework

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other Workday workstreams beyond Payroll, Absence and Time-Tracking
  • Familiarity with Payroll Operations and United States Time and Leave policies
  • Experience implementing and stabilizing Workday within a company of similar scale and complexity to Humana
  • Proven HR technology system leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Work-At-Home Requirements:

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$95,300 – $143,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
