Position Summary
This individual contributor role offers the opportunity to lead the Karius Customer Experience across all digital platforms with a goal of creating an impactful, engaging, and user-friendly experience for clinicians and laboratory staff, as well as ownership of key internal tools. The person will collaborate across the organization with other Product Managers, User Experience Design, Marketing, Engineering, and many other teams at Karius in order to create, maintain, and execute against a product roadmap that addresses clear needs and business goals in the important field of next-gen infectious disease diagnostics. He/She will also be a critical part of our broader voice of the customer organization and will actively participate in user experience research.

Reports to: Senior Director, Product Development
Location: Redwood City, CA
Primary Responsibilities
• Owning the software that powers the end-to-end user experience of the Karius Test, including but not limited to: Karius Test Report viewing and engagement across all mediums (web, mobile, EMR, fax, PDF, etcc), Customer Onboarding/Management (Digital Institution and Digital User Account Management), customer engagement (push and pull)/community building/knowledge-base building, and some of the most exciting emerging opportunities as we bring more interpretable results closer to the bedside.
• Owning various internal systems that teams at Karius rely on every day to efficiently and effectively do their jobs, including but not limited to: order management system, accessioning system, customer support tools, Looker reports/dashboards, etc.
• Working cross-functionally with a variety of teams at Karius including User Experience Design, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Operations, and other PMs, to create and maintain a product roadmap that addresses clear business goals.
• Partnering with User Experience Design, Engineering, and other teams as required to build, validate, and ship/launch products, features, and updates.
• Being the voice of the customer for all types of customers/users including patients
Comprehending the regulatory environment that Karius operates in and ensuring that all systems meet or exceed these external requirements.
• Creating release notes, customer emails about new releases, and training materials for internal teams.

Physical Requirements
• Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in a related field such as CS/EE/Physics/Biology/Medicine (Master’s or PhD Degree preferred).
• At least 8 years of total experience with 4 years of direct software product management experience that includes a strong user experience component with a clear, demonstrated ability to partner with user experience design, engineering, and other teams to successfully ship products and features (preference for candidates with web and mobile experience).
• Ability to translate and articulate complicated business problems into easily understood solutions and functional requirements.
• Experience with agile development, Jira, and Confluence.
• Proven leadership capabilities including strategy development, effective decision-making, and the ability to drive results.
• Familiarity with user experience research, usability testing, and customer journey mapping.
• Experience building software with a strong data component that is utilized by clinicians and familiarity with the US healthcare system.
• Experience leading product strategy and building software in a regulated software environment (CLIA/HIPAA/CAP).
