Position: Senior Software Security Engineer
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Design and develop micro services to provide Authentication and Authorization for 45 Million users of Sam’s Club using different types of Authentication schemes at POS Systems in stores. Experience with Authentication and Authorization protocols such as SSO, SAML 2.0, OpenId Connect, OAuth 2.0. Development using security concepts in the field of Authentication, Authorization, Encryption and Digital signatures. Usage of multiple encryption algorithms such as RSA 256 and using them to issue/validate security JWT tokens. Determining the user behavioral patterns and assigning the risk score for determining the Multi Factor Authentication. To improve the trust and safety to our customers by identifying the patterns proactively and reactively and help Sam’s club to prevent fraudulent activities against our customers. Work on end to end development of features to support authentication and MFA of users at Point-of-Sale systems. Responsible for maintaining and enhancing deployments and infrastructure to support highly scalable and fault-tolerant services for Sam’s club. Develop, enhance and maintain a fleet of microservices to power a general-purpose policy engine platform using open-source Open Policy Agent (OPA) for Sam’s club internal cloud services. Leverage Azure, GCP cloud service offerings to achieve fault tolerance, scalability, Disaster recovery capabilities for services of Sam’s Club. Develop a data pipelines and data warehouse system used to perform auditing and error analysis of customer complaints and potential fraud activities related to payments, cash rewards.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.
Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API web services to replace a legacy Authentication/Authorization system with a scalable, stateless Open id/OAuth2 compliant Identity solution for Sam’s Club using Java and Spring. Experience designing NoSQL databases to create a data warehouse and process audit data using Cassandra, Azure Cosmos DB, GCP BigQuery, and Redis. Experience with deployment of services Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment using Jenkins and Azure Devops. Experience with Cloud Networking Services including Azure storage account, Traffic Manager, API Manager, and Akamai. Experience designing and implementing SQL Databases including MySQL. Experience with Message Queues for event driven use cases to communicate across internal Systems using Kafka and Event Hub. Experience with Cloud Native technologies including OPA, Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio. Experience with Integration testing, log analysis and automation using Python, pandas, and matplotlib. Experience with Log aggregation and metrics using Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $184,662/year to $200,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
