We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Senior Specialist, Product Manager to join our Technology Product Management team. This role is located in Lake Mary FLA.

This will be a hybrid role position.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

The Technology Product Management team at Pershing defines product vision and strategy based on customer needs and competitive landscape. The team is responsible for products throughout their life cycle and works closely with technology groups to continuously improve the products and solutions.

Product Managers conceptualize new solutions and enhancements to products, define the Product Strategy & Roadmap, and promote the adoption of our solutions across the wide range of Pershing customers globally, including broker dealers, advisors, and investors. Product Managers work with a variety of teams for the execution of the Product Strategy & Roadmap and the subsequent Launch & Rollout including – Technology, User Experience, Marketing, Project Management and Business Analysts among others. Product Managers serve as the voice of the customer internally; they articulate the product positioning, benefits, target customers, and promote the products both internally and externally.

In addition, Product Managers are also involved in client engagements, strategic product meetings with clients, product demonstrations and sales initiatives.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

Leads and provides direction as Product Manager of firm’s growing data file product

Associate is fully and primarilyresponsible for creating, maintaining, and managing processes surrounding the customer-facing layout documents for heavily utilized product.

Functions as product SME, listening to requirements and leading file planning sessions with cross-functional project teams all over the enterprise, providing guidance throughout project lifecycle to deliver results that fully address project and client needs, and designing and documenting data feeds for the project.

Ensures each file’s feasibility by investigating feeding systems, their data, copybooks, and existing documentation to enhance product while accounting for probable change and growth through familiarity with consumer trends and market status.

Works with clients, and their software vendors, to provide data mapping and performs research and analysis required to respond to file content inquiries of internal and external product users; so, an affinity for customer service, offering end to end support is required.

Contributes to strategic direction for the product by building and shaping processes and driving their execution. Guides product governance at oversight meetings and works closely with team to track and implement file updates.

While the primary responsibility is in layout design and maintenance, Associate will gain exposure to all firm areas and can obtain experience in project management, testing, product marketing and communication, meeting governance and more.

You have:

  • Technology product experience in the financial industry, optimally with a fintech, data file management provider or related technology service provider
  • Experience successfully leading complex products, which require engagement from diverse teams with their own set of priorities, to positive outcomes
  • A passion for improving the financial lives of everyday people through the delivery of elegant and powerful digital tools they will want to use

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in technology, Preference for those with practice in data file mapping and file structure governance
  • Familiarity with Mainframe applications very helpful
  • Several years in financial services with focus on brokerage and clearing operations with a strong compliance and risk management culture necessary
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, decision making, and problem-solving skills are required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills are required
  • In addition to Microsoft office suite, experience with any of the following also plus: Jira, SharePoint, Crafter, Visual Basic ( a plus)
  • Experience in business-to-business technology integrations is preferred
  • Experience understanding client feedback and needs; drawing insight, finding innovative solutions, and articulating them to others to support execution is preferred
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a dynamically changing environment is preferred
  • Prior Product Development and Management experience is required

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $89,500 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
