Senior Staff Development Training Specialist – Department of Revenue

Salary: $56,332-$69,936 annually

Job Location: This position will be located at 301 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO.

The Human Resources and Total Rewards Bureau is seeking a professional development leader to design, develop, coordinate, and deliver instructional programs for specialized areas. You will have the opportunity to create and present educational material to team members for both soft and technical skills. This position will consult with agency leaders and work teams to determine present and/or future organizational and individual development needs and will provide consultative or technical support to agency personnel regarding the planning, scheduling, and delivery of training programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide instruction in the areas such as onboarding, computer training, professional development, supervisory and managerial training, human resources training, e-learning and process improvement.
  • Perform the duties of the Department’s MO Learning coordinator and liaison with OA, Division of Personnel on the Leadership Development rule tracking.
  • Be a key player in the management team of the Human Resources and Total Rewards Bureau.
  • Coordinates all aspects of professional development presented during Team Member Orientation (TMO) including such classes related to confidentiality, professionalism, and customer experience.
  • Conduct meetings with direct reports to relay information and discuss work issues affecting their assigned work or unit.
  • Participate in interviews of candidates for vacant positions.
  • Be a key player in the Leadership Essentials and Applications Program (LEAP).

  • Skills in training instruction and presentation.
  • Skills in coaching initiatives for individuals and groups in classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methods and development of necessary materials.
  • Knowledge of media used to deliver training.
  • Ability to make recommendations for training changes and implement them as approved.
  • Ability to stay abreast of training needs.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for lifelong learning

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed)
