Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced: operations, MEP engineering, project management, and financial management professional to oversee our California engineering office. In this position, you will be responsible for many of the company’s operating processes and management initiatives. You will report to the Vice President & General Manager of CoolSys Energy Design.
The primary goal of this position is to secure the ongoing and efficient functionality and growth of our California office.
Essential Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for the California office P&L, operations, employee engagement, and growth
- Resource and utilization planning across multiple technical departments closely interfacing with lead engineers and designers
- Maintain general knowledge of all engineering functions including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Controls, and Fire Protection design in order to effectively manage large engineering projects and speak to our clients regarding project details and program initiatives
- Manage major engineering projects including management of project teams, deadlines, technical scope clarifications, etc.
- Evaluate individual employees, project team, and company performance with a focus on bottom-line financial performance
- Travel to project and client sites throughout the United States when the need arises for both project and business development purposes
- Have a “can do” attitude and be ready to perform any job function the office requires, as best as reasonably practicable
- Lead by example in demonstrating a motivating and inspiring attitude on a daily basis
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in an engineering and project management role, ideally with 5 years of experience in management
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field with advanced degrees as a plus
- General understanding of business functions and experience including engineering, project management, personnel/team management, HR, and finance
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving at a high level
- Professional Engineer license is a plus
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT (our primary tools) is a plus
