Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Trades Technician! In this vital role, you’ll lead a skilled technical crew in maintaining various facility systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and more. Essential Job Functions
- Leads and supervises the Maintenance Technical or General Maintenance crew in the daily work assignments, observing and monitoring work tasks, ensuring work is performed safely, evaluating work performance, assisting employees to correct deficiencies. assist the supervisor in assigning work duties and provides feedback to the supervisor.
- Assist the supervisor in ensuring safety at all work sites, directing and supervising work for quality assurance, training, instruction, and scheduling work for technicians and overseeing contractor performing small projects and maintenance on city facilities.
- Monitors project work by ensuring a safe working environment for crews; planning and requesting materials or estimates for projects, needed materials, services, and equipment. Ensuring project are completed in a timely manner; inspecting work; and provide problem solutions as needed.
- Assist the supervisor with administrative duties by assisting in the preparation of daily work orders; overseeing Contractors performing maintenance repairs and small projects for the city, assist in preparing various reports; processing overtime and leave requests; completing accident forms; and monitoring projects, equipment, and supply inventories.
- Assist in maintaining equipment by inspecting for damage, performing routine maintenance. Assist in establishing Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, and prioritization of work. Assist in maintaining updating and work order assets computer-based system. Monitors and interacts with the Building Controls System.
- Acting supervisor, the absence of the supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.
- Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality for the assigned work hours is essential.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Training beyond high school. Could include some college hours, technical school, or correspondence course.
- Experience: 4-6 years of related experience. Ability to operate a computer and the associated programs. Experience with Building Management Systems.
- Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required.
