We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Product Designerto join our Pershing User Experience Team. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ.
This will be a flex/remote position.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
The Pershing UX team is responsible for designing and delivering best-in-class user experiences across a range of digital products and services. The team is dedicated to putting the user at the center of everything it does and works closely with product and design teams to create solutions that meet the needs and expectations of clients and stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Perform and lead moderate to complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design.
- Conduct and/or lead user research, usability testing, surveys, interviews, work studies, and heuristic evaluations. Present and review documentation of research findings with product and development teams.
- Create concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications.
- Participates in the implementation of more complex visual styles that support platform branding to increase user effectiveness.
- Contributes to the product definition and evaluation process utilizing multiple sources of information (field work, interviews, internet, intranet, market data/literature), interprets user feedback and insights to improve the user experience.
- Creates and updates user interface and visual design guidelines and standards, may assist in the maintenance of some as assigned.
- Contributes to the achievement of related teams’ objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
- 0-3 years of experience required
- Technology product development or related experience is required
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
- Experience working in an agile framework is a plus
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a dynamically changing environment is preferred

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $55,000 and $85,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
