Proper Hospitality is seeking a Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage to join our Los Angeles-based corporate team.
In tandem with the Vice President of Food & Beverage, this key role is responsible for the daily operations, culture and financial performance of all Food & Beverage programming within our portfolio. As we continue to scale, the Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage will be laser-focused on strategic planning, initiative management, operations management and department leadership.
This position requires exceptional leadership and vision, and the ideal candidate will possess multi-unit experience within high-volume operations as well as a proven track record of successfully delivering on multiple objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience creating and developing successful Food & Beverage concepts for luxury outlets
- Provide leadership to both Vice President of Food & Beverage and Corporate Culinary Director as well as property-level Food & Beverage management, ensuring that each area of responsibility has measurable objectives
- Work with departmental training to improve Food & Beverage delivery, consistency, service and presentation at each property within the portfolio
- Alongside the Chief Operating Officer, direct and oversee the financial success of all properties by taking ownership of Food & Beverage revenue goals, managing expenses, controlling labor costs and guest satisfaction scores
- Develop and maintain relationships with Food & Beverage vendors, monitoring purchases made at all properties and confirming negotiated prices are honored
- Lead kitchen design and OS&E
- Recruit culinary leadership and provide training support
- Oversee menu development, i.e. banquets & catering, restaurants, bars, and in-room dining
- Lead recipe costing process
- Oversee, maintain and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage Standard Operating Procedures to include the employee handbook, Food & Beverage cost controls, colleague training, operational controls, health department initiatives, sanitation, liquor control/laws, productivity and production
- Lead the development and implementation of Food & Beverage-related elements within the annual business plan and budget to include concept development, concept repositioning and branding efforts
- Conduct consistent and documented property inspections to gauge operational performance, cleanliness, and adherence to hotel, brand, local and national regulations and requirements
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of experience overseeing multi-unit F&B operations; full service and luxury hotel experience highly preferred
- Experience within free-standing restaurants highly preferred
- Occasional travel to hotels within the portfolio as well as New Hotel Openings

- Excellent organizational skills; ability to function under time constraints and deadlines with sharp attention to detail
- In-depth knowledge of all disciplines within the Food & Beverage division, including but not limited to: branding-strategy implementation, sourcing, distribution, cost controls and regulatory standards/compliance across all outlets
- Ability to effectively achieve business unit goals and objectives by implementing strategic and operational plans, budgets and best practices; monitoring and evaluating results
- Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance
