Brown and Caldwell’s Florida Area is currently looking for a Senior Program Manager to join our growing team! The successful candidate will work with a team towards the delivery of major water resources projects and support the growth of the FGC One Water Initiative. In this critical role the candidate will deal with complex issues and collaborate with key company resources towards the development of technical solutions. Candidate will provide overall management support for projects to ensure they all move together toward meeting the overall program management objectives and goals. As such, the successful candidate will delegate projects to subordinate engineers, supervise their work, and provide consultation in specialized areas. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to coordinate with multiple engineers, contractors, and other parties providing input and collaborating on decisions. It is critical for the candidate to be strong communicator and to be able to influence others in order to accomplish objectives in this key role.
Detailed Description:
- Develop scope, schedule and budget for engineering proposals.
- Identify and procure engineering staff for project team.
- Provide key project management support.
- Facilitate project delivery and execution (including managing sub consultants).
- Interact with client, discipline leaders and assigned staff, to confirm work is progressing per schedule and budget and that the work is being developed to the appropriate level of completeness and quality.
- Simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and prepare quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders.
- Prepare complex technical reports and other deliverables.
- Collaborate with company resources towards the development of technical solutions for complex challenges.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field; MS degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience with municipal water/wastewater utility engineering; international experience a plus
- PE or equivalent licensing in Florida, or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months is required
- PMP certification from the Project Management Institute preferred
- Previous proven and successful program management experience on large municipal projects as either the lead or in an assistant project manager role with ability to obtain direct client references.
- Strong planning experience through design and construction of large municipal and/or federal facilities.
- Strong communication skills i.e. ability to communicate orally and in writing – across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to proactively deal with conflict.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $137,000 – $187,000
