Role description:

As a Senior Water Wastewater Pipeline Project Manager, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge to successfully execute projects. You will also assist with the pursuit of municipal water/wastewater pipeline projects in the region to help build and grow our practice in the Houston area and throughout Texas. The focus of this role is water/wastewater design for linear projects, including pipeline assessment and rehabilitation. However, other water/wastewater market planning and design experience is desired.

Role accountabilities:

  • Manage projects, tasks, and clients through the planning, design, and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, and pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents and specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration for both new construction and rehabilitation work.
  • Prepare complete design packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water, wastewater and stormwater pipeline and pump station projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate execution of projects with other disciplines.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions and lead teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations.
  • Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets including pipelines and pump/lift stations using a variety of approaches and technologies.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules and be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Manage and lead the growth of client relationships.
  • Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineers and other technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Travel as needed for client meetings, project site visits, etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of water/wastewater and stormwater pipeline design experience including large water transmission mains, water distribution pipelines, force mains, collection sewers, and pump stations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • PE License in TX; or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Project experience including design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, and pump/lift stations for municipal clients’ districts and agencies.
  • Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Excellent technical engineering and project/task management skills in the water/wastewater practice area.
  • Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful track record of delivering various engineering projects to the expectations of the client.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience.
  • Resume that includes experience as the engineer of record delivering water transmission/distribution systems, wastewater and stormwater collection systems, and pump station designs for clients in the Houston market.
  • Current client relationships in the Houston market with a demonstrated track record of preparing and winning proposals for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
  • Design-build project experience.
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations.
  • NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP Certification.

The salary range for this position is $104920 – $187050 / year.
