Role description:

With the support of a strong nationally recognized staff, the Senior Wastewater Engineer will be able to lead a team to grow their expertise and technical knowledge of wastewater treatment design & construction engineering. The Senior Engineer would be a critical team member and be expected to support the proven reputation of excellence in project delivery and Client Management/Satisfaction that distinguishes Arcadis. The Senior Engineer will have the opportunity to manage design teams and serve numerous clients within this growing region. This professional position offers significant growth opportunities for advancement, engagement in our national Communities of Practice, and participation in nationally recognized professional organizations.

The candidate in this role will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge to successfully execute projects and help build and grow our practice in the region. This role involves leading wastewater design for plant (inside the fence) projects and other wastewater facilities.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead project teams and collaborate with clients in the planning, design and construction of wastewater facilities as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and handling construction oversight / administration.
  • Work with the Area Leader(s) and client Account Leader(s) on developing project scopes and fee estimates, setting the best stage for profitable delivery, managing risk, identifying project staff, and related activities.
  • Manage a range of projects for various clients in the region. Responsibilities will include managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, and leading project team to meet the project deliverables.
  • Work directly, when assigned, with clients to determine needs and provide solutions.
  • Coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams.
  • As a seller/doer support the development of small to large design projects from inception to completion.
  • Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Wastewater experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • PE License in Florida or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.

Key Skills/Attributes

  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.
  • Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible to work with different project teams present locally and across remote offices.
  • Self-motivated in improving team and personal performance.
  • Experience working on design projects with construction contractors under traditional and collaborative project delivery methods.
  • Familiar and experienced with applicable design software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or an MBA.
  • Master planning experience.
  • Collaborative project delivery experience.
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations.

The salary range for this position is $97600 – 146400 / year.
