Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
Essential Duties:
Perform research and development in data acquisition, signal processing, and sensor fusion (i.e. integrating data from different sensors with varying sampling rates) to inform downstream decision making and modeling efforts.
Tasks will include developing tools and pipelines for collecting and processing multisensory data, as well as developing and/or evaluating machine learning algorithms for sensor fusion on the collected data.
Sensors may include RGB-D cameras, lidar, sonar, and physiological sensors.
Required Skills:
Experience with sensor data collection, signal processing, and/or analysis.
Comfortable programming in Python.
Interested in working on applications in the areas of human-robot interaction, computer vision, autonomous vehicles, and/or maritime robotics.
Desired Skills:
Comfortable programming in C++.
Hands-on experience with hardware, including sensors and/or robots. Experience with physiological signals is a plus.
Hands-on experience with training machine learning models for sensor fusion/integration.
Hands-on experience with developing ROS2 infrastructure for robots.
Proficiency in a deep learning framework (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Expertise in human-robot interaction, maritime robotics, and/or autonomous vehicles.
Required Education:
Currently pursuing a B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Physical Requirements:
Good communication (verbal and written) skills. Active participation in R&D team activities.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $50 – $55 per hour.
