Service Manager – Transmission and Distribution

Summary:

The Service Manager – Transmission and Distribution manages a team of mechanics, on-site in Weatherford and field based, and is accountable and responsible for oversight, direction, troubleshooting, diagnosing and quality repairs on heavy equipment in a field/shop environment. This position covers all equipment utilized on Service Manager – Transmission and Distribution projects which include BESS, Substation, T-lines and Collection lines. This position will be based out of our Weatherford, TX facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages routine maintenance schedules and communicates schedules for maintenance, repairs and utilization to Equipment Manager and field personnel.
  • Coordinates maintenance repairs and 3rd party vendors with the onsite solar mechanics.
  • Reviews third (3rd) party invoices to ensure repairs and costs are appropriate.
  • Partners with third (3rd) party suppliers to monitor repairs and ensure timely turnaround to keep utilization of assets high.
  • Oversees performance of and schedules basic and advanced mechanical duties, including troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair of equipment in the field, needs to be familiar with all makes of equipment utilized on T&D projects with a primary focus on RES asset equipment.
  • Performs electronic engine diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Reports shop productivity daily.
  • Operates Company vehicle in a safe manner to drive to various site locations.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform ad hoc job-related duties/functions and projects to support the Equipment Manager –
    T&D.
  • Communicates with project sites and operating group leadership on repair status and needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Advanced technical knowledge in operation and function of Service Manager – Transmission and Distribution, equipment, including bucket trucks, boom (crane) trucks, tensioners and pullers, drill rigs, trenchers, loaders, forklifts, excavators, dozers, graders, skidsteers, padders and compactors.

  • Management of multiple direct reports.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools required.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical equipment specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues remotely and provide guidance to field crews.
  • Develop internal processes in line with industry standard service and maintenance guidelines.

Education:

  • High school/GED Required
  • and Work Experience:
    • 5+ years’ Heavy Construction equipment experience, with equipment relative to T&D construction required.
    • 2+ years’ Supervisory Experience required.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.

Anticipated base salary range: $85,000- $100,000
