Typical Day in the Life

The ServiceNow CMDB Administrator at Eide Bailly is responsible for managing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. You will ensure that the CMDB is up to date, accurate, and complete, and will work closely with other IT teams to ensure that all necessary information is captured in the CMDB. A typical day in the life of this role may include the following:

  • Manage and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure it accurately reflects the current state of the IT environment.
  • Develop and customize ServiceNow CMDB workflows to automate the management of configuration items (CIs) and their relationships.
  • Create custom ServiceNow CMDB classes and attributes to support specific ITSM processes and data requirements.
  • Write business rules and client scripts to enforce CMDB data integrity and quality control.
  • Ability to write ServiceNow CMDB scripts to automate data imports, exports, and transformations.
  • Work with other IT teams to ensure that all configuration items (CIs) are correctly identified, recorded, and tracked within the CMDB. This will include hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain CMDB processes and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain data quality controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that the CMDB is integrated with other IT service management processes such as incident, problem, change, and release management. In addition, asset management, vendor management, and contract management.
  • Conduct regular audits and health checks of the CMDB to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Monitor and analyze CMDB data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver CMDB reports and dashboards to provide insight into the state of the IT environment.
  • Will work closely with internal ServiceNow Administrator and Developer.
  • Provide CMDB training and support to IT teams and stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a CMDB within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) processes and best practices.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and Orchestration.
  • Experience with scripting and development within ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and ITIL-based processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist in CMDB preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.

Benefits and Compensation

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.

Salary Range: $62,000/yr – $76,000/yr
