The Shop Quality Control Manager will work within a collaborative work environment and a team of individuals that provide a close working atmosphere with continuing educational opportunities for career growth. Upward growth opportunities are available from Senior Quality Management roles both field and ship.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining a robust quality control program.
- Ensure all welding personnel are qualified and following the approved procedures (WPS & ASME code requirements)
- Ability to identify defects, deviations and non-conformities for welding, assembly, coatings, material receiving, storage and preservation.
- Manage and schedule all non-destructive examination (NDE).
- Regularly reporting to Management and keeping clients updated on the quality control status.
- Identify defects, deviations and non-conformities for welding, assembly, coatings, material receiving and control.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and management teams to resolve quality related issues.
- Lead a team of quality control inspectors, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure consistent and accurate evaluations.
- Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the quality control program and measures.
- Effective communication, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of all shop processes, welding, assembly, sandblasting/industrial coatings, material receiving and control.
- Fully understand safety as it relates to construction activities.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- AWS CWI
- 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
- Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to closely collaborate with the customer and third-party inspection personnel.
- Excellent code and specification research, as it relates to the project.
- Familiar with ASME codes such as B31.3 etc.
- Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with relevant software (Microsoft office).
*Hourly Rate: $52.00 – $62.00 per hour dependent upon experience, qualifications, and competencies.
