About this Position
In this role you will be responsible for providing supervision to the Jones Lodge rental events. For events at the location, you will provide assistance with set-up or tear down, and also help with the upkeep of the facility.
Position Schedule: Hours depend on scheduled events. Average hours will be 19 hr/week
Salary: $12.00 hourly to commensurate with experience
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, physical examination (if applicable) and drug screen are required prior to employment with the City of Cedar Rapids.

Examples of Essential Duties
- Enforces all rules and helps maintain discipline to keep safe and orderly groups for rentals and programs.
- Locks and unlocks the building for events.
- Ensures that the facility is appropriately and sufficiently prepared and cleaned at the beginning and end of each rental or program.
- Communicates with public on regular basis.
- Maintains friendly and courteous atmosphere to all patrons.
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices;
- Attends work regularly at the designated place and time;
- Supports continuous process improvement initiatives;
- Performs related work as required.
Typical Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Requires working and supervisory experience events and/or other small party rentals of a facility OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
Desired Qualifications
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
