Utah Valley University is currently seeking a part-time SOA Student Recruiter! Working under the supervision of the School of the Arts (SOA), Utah Valley University in Orem UT, is looking for a part-time recruiter. In collaboration with the department chairs, the candidate develops and implements a plan targeting qualified students from High schools as well as community colleges for various SOA programs. The candidate will also participate in recruiting events organized by the university, SOA or the individual departments. May be required to work variable hours (evenings, weekends) depending on scheduled events relating to the position.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Works with teachers and guidance counselors, develops working relationship for visiting classes, recruiting, and college participation in student projects.
- Develops, implements, and participates in various events and recruiting projects planned by the School of the Arts.
- Stays abreast with state-of-the-art technology and marketing principles and trends pertaining to student recruiting in higher education. Uses analytics to evaluate effectiveness and puts forward appropriate adjustments in recruiting activities.
- Collaborates with the university offices, such as media, marketing, academic departments, admissions, financial aid, student success, student affairs, and others engaged in recruitment and retention. Works closely with SOA Event Management & Marketing.
- Works closely with and provides guidance to student advisors and works to build the relationship between SOA and prospective students.
- Represent the School of the Arts at all Jumpstart Orientation meetings, information fairs, and on-campus conventions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year of experience directly related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and experience totaling five years.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of higher education recruiting projects.
- Knowledge of student environment.
- Knowledge of career exploration, selection, preparation and readiness principles.
- Knowledge of degree programs, applications, and audition requirements.
Skills:
- Marketing, communication, and education.
- Professional presentation and communication skills.
- Event coordination experience. Office Suite including Word and Excel. Mailerlite
Abilities:
- Works with various school districts’ educators, administrators and the university personnel.
- Interacts well with students.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work individually as well as on a team.
