Why does the job exist?
The purpose of the position is to provide technical assistance and support to Case Managers, Providers, and Therapists regarding the Regulations, Service Standards, and Policies and Procedures for DDSD Waiver Programs. Responsible for completing home and site visits and participating in regional and statewide meetings as well as assisting with any activities mandated. This position provides assistance as needed to people transitioning between waiver programs.
How does it get done?
This position is responsible for attending interdisciplinary team meetings to include assisting the team with problem solving and mediating conflict resolution within the team. Responsible for monitoring service provider compliance and follow up on activities in the Northeast Region. This position will provide guidance, quality assurance, training and oversight for community providers within the DDSD programs.
Who are the customers?
This position works with state employees, provider agencies, people receiving services from DDSD and their support systems.
Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have experience with assistance to Case Managers, Providers, and Therapists regarding the Regulations, DDW Service Standards, and Policies and Procedures for Waiver and State General Fund programs overseen by DDSD.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and two (2) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Travel may be required with some occasional overnight stays. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.
Working Conditions
Office setting with extensive use of personal computer, telephone, fax, copier and other related office equipment that involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, etc. to include lifting up to 30 pounds.
