Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Collections Manager of the Escalette Permanent Art Collection, an academic unit of Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Social Media Coordinator will assist with the coordination of a broad range of social media tasks including: supporting the management of Escalette Collection social media sites, preparing targeted communication to existing and prospective audiences across digital platforms, and assisting in the development and execution of social media campaigns. They will also contribute to the coordination of implementing the Escalette Collection’s social media strategy, generate traffic to its social media platforms, and increase user engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with the collection to promote Escalette Collection initiatives and events across all its social media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and streamlining the output of information across social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook.
- Administrative management of publishing dashboard (Later.com) and posting schedule.
- Review analytics to assess success and recommend improvements for posts.
- Assist in the development of strategies to increase followership and engagement.
- Assist in the development of miscellaneous content to increase followership.
- Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely manner.
- Manage social media engagement during events.
- Write and edit blog posts about Escalette Collection events, artists, or other topics as needed.
- Assist with planning of Escalette newsletter as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Professional, dependable, organized, experienced writing skills, able to multi-task, ability to collaborate.
- Strong functional knowledge of social media principles, practices, and the desire to apply that knowledge in a professional environment.
- Ability to learn and adhere to university brand standards and divisional marketing practices.
- Ability to work well and quickly under pressure, both individually and as a part of a team.
- Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- Creative problem solving and adaptability in developing new ideas.
- Strong writing and editing skills
