Social Media Intern, Parenting

Bustle Digital Group is looking for a dynamic Social Media Intern to join our team. This person will work across BDG’s parenting brands – Romper, Scary Mommy, The Dad, and Fatherly – to help with social media strategy and production, with a focus on driving engagement, traffic, and followers. There will also be opportunities to join social team meetings and pitch new social ideas.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, capable of juggling multiple tasks, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This intern should have familiarity with relevant social platforms and strong communication skills. Previous experience in digital media is preferred.

BDG’s 2023 Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience at one of the fastest growing digital media companies today. Our immersive program gives each intern the chance to explore and develop their interests through executive mentorship, career training, professional development seminars and workshops, collaborative projects, off-site events and more.

This is a paid, part-time opportunity beginning June 12, 2023 and runs through September 8, 2023. Candidates should be available to work up to 28 hours per week, and will be given the choice to work either remotely or from BDG’s New York City HQ office near Madison Square Park, depending on your role.

Responsibilities

    • Write engaging, clicky copy for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok posts
    • Assist with daily posting to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more
    • Source relevant tweet, meme, and video content for posting across social platforms
    • Source evergreen content for posting across BDG’s parenting brands
    • Assist in the production of original content for Instagram and Instagram Stories
    • Assist with social strategy, creative development, and competitor analysis
    • Use social insights tools to compile and analyze the latest stats across brands
    • Track and report on audience-relevant trends from all major social platforms

Requirements

    • Ability to write snappy, smart social copy
    • An eye for finding and creating visually engaging social imagery
    • Capable of identifying trending topics/influencers
    • Basic knowledge of social analytics tools
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Able to follow instructions and implement feedback
    • Able to work independently when necessary
    • Willingness to alter workflow with a sense of urgency
    • Access to Keynote and/or Photoshop is a plus
    • Have understanding of the different BDG parenting brands’ voices and audiences

$17 – $17 an hour
