Role Purpose

BJC HealthCare’s social media manager is responsible for developing and implementing the health system’s social strategy; maintaining and enforcing social media policy, processes and best practices; identifying and adopting appropriate brand voice and tone across multiple unique platforms and aligning and deploying social content that promotes key services and goals. This person works closely with the marketing strategy, content, digital, media relations and operations teams to develop and execute strategic, engaging campaigns that connect with the community, patients, families, staff and the media. The ideal candidate has strong written communication skills, creative ideas, deep knowledge of digital trends, experience with issues management, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse and demanding work environment, and possesses an energetic, collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Leads the design and implementation of strategy across multiple channels – including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn – on behalf of BJC’s 14 member hospitals and additional health service organizations, to align with BJC’s business goals. Researches current trends and audience preferences; set KPIs for social platforms and report on content analytics
  • Creates and enforces brand, voice, tone for each social channel; curates brand advocates, generates leads, builds engagement, generates positive buzz.
  • Oversees the process of generating, editing, publishing and sharing engaging content. Oversees process to communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.
  • Supports team in executing a strategy to monitor conversations about BJC, its member hospitals and health service organizations; shares with appropriate internal stakeholders, and develops and manages a response strategy.
  • Collaborates with MarComm team leaders as well as external stakeholders to ensure brand consistency. Oversees social media account design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layouts); suggests and implements new ideas or activities to develop brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Stays up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
