Provides overall direction & clinical supervision to CSN staff with the Cuyahoga County Intensive Treatment Team (ITT): ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) & other standards as identified by NBH; ensure areas of supervision are in compliance with departmental, state & federal laws & union agreements; ensures that all staff supervised provide services in accordance with their assigned job description; assesses the need for direct intervention during crisis situations; available for crisis intervention 8:00am -7:30pm, Monday-Friday and 8:00am -4:30pm Saturday & Sunday a day, 7 days a week; the only ITT member available 24/7, via cell phone, in an ITT crisis ; ensures compliance with community Medicaid standards; develops & implements policies procedures to address certification requirements; implements quality assurance activities to evaluate quality & appropriateness of services; provides continuous quality improvement & resolves identified problems; works closely with Cuyahoga County MH agencies & local Boards, including the Developmental Disabilities Board, in order to access services for treatment team clients; works closely with involved consumer families & significant others to respond to their inquiries & to keep them informed of consumer services; works with various community resources (e.g., Police Dept., local business, churches, other human service organizations) to assure services are provided in line with consumer needs; maintains knowledge of & utilizes recovery model concepts; ensures staff provides services within the recovery philosophy & recovery program; will carry a 3 client caseload; follows established safety practices & procedures. Provides clinical supervision to all team case managers: ensures that case managers are functioning & performing within guidelines & standards set forth by OhioMHAS & Medicaid; holds clinical review meetings weekly & provides individual case focus supervision as needed; ensures that case managers document services per Medicaid standards; coordinates timely submission of case management notes; monitors case managers to assure then maintain a 95% service productivity level; participates in the development of Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) with client & case manager; uses computer system in field to document IRP & collect data; signs off/validated client 508 certification forms; works with CSN Medicaid coordinator to complete Medicaid quarterly reconciliation reports, complete service deficiency printouts & trouble shoot client Medicaid eligibility determination problems.
Attends & conducts meeting to keep staff informed of changes in procedures, programs, policies & techniques: attends & participates in case conference & treatment plan development meetings with consumers, families, community agency personnel, community treatment team members; attends any other required meeting at NBH or in the community; assures for continued training & development of team members by developing quarterly training plans & coordinating delivery of same; responds to request for & conducts regularly scheduled reports/concerns with team members performance; keeps abreast of community support service models through attendance at relevant seminars & workshops; attends required training; meets with team members annually & completes team members performance evaluations & quarterly updates; maintains LISW & participates in other training to advance knowledge of evidence based treatment for the severely mentally ill, dually diagnosed & supervision of staff; provides clinical supervision toward independent licensure for social work staff as needed & provides training supervision to social work interns; solicits cooperation & interest of public & private health services agencies (i.e. Mental Health Boards, Behavioral Health Agencies, etc.), Labor & Management organizations, Employer/Employment groups & professional rehabilitation groups to expand & enhance services; participates on community boards & committees committed to enhancing employment opportunities & recovery approach services for individuals with severe & persistent mental illness (i.e. state & county mental health recovery initiatives, state & county employment initiatives, state & county rehabilitation initiatives); writes & submits grant applicants as applicable; provides coverage for NBH Director of Social Work absence as needed or assigned. Performs other duties as needed or assign: utilize OhioMHAS approved office productivity software, approved intra & Internet resources & information systems in an appropriate work related manner as specified in the NBH Personal Computer Usage Guidelines for Employees; prepares & reviews monthly, quarterly, annual statistical reports & Quality Assurance mechanisms; compiles & maintains data; develops & approves team members work schedules; approves team members work schedules; approves team members leave request & assures through scheduling that planned staff leaves allow for appropriate levels of coverage to serve the teams assigned consumers; enters staff payroll into KRONOS; initiates any needed personnel corrective actions; commends & affirms successes, achievements, growth & effectiveness exhibited by team member; practices good public relations techniques (i.e., professional, helpful, friendly voice & attitude) when greeting & interacting with visitors & the community at large in order to increase customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Requires current license as independent social worker (i.e., LISW) as issued by State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board in accordance with ORC 4757.27; 12 mos. exp. providing clinical supervision.
Pursuant to ORC 4757.41 (A)(5) any person engaging in social work or professional counseling as a civil service employee as defined in section 124.01 of the Revised Code who has at least two years of service as of July 10, 2014 is exempt from current licensure as independent social worker (i.e. LISW) requirement.
