OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed by criminal courts.

We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker 1 to perform the following duties (not all inclusive) within our Department of Social Work, headquartered at Northwest Ohio Psychiatrich Hospital, 930 South Detriot Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614

What You’ll Do:

Coordinates admission; assessment, evaluation & treatment plans of client’s care cycle; provides interventions with acute, more complex clients; manages cases containing numerous factors & problems & provides crisis intervention.

Participates in process of establishing, implementing & directing social service programs & treatment system objectives; develops & designs treatment intervention techniques & procedures; evaluates & modifies treatment systems to be responsive to client’s progress & ability to change behavior;

Maintains necessary documentation to satisfy requirements of federal, state & local agencies & accrediting bodies; completes & maintains client records (e.g., social histories, admission/aftercare summaries, progress notes, capacity assessments, referral records, & discharge documents).

Establishes & maintains working relationships with other facilities, agencies & support services (e.g., Social Security Administration, Medicaid, Medicare, Veteran Administration, public welfare) in order to coordinate referrals & conduct follow-up.

Plans & implements continuance of care from hospital to community by functioning as linkage for treatment team with case management system through ongoing regular collaboration (e.g, meetings, telephone conversations, correspondence).

Attends & participates in training sessions, department procedure & policy review meetings.

Qualifications
Requires current license as social worker (i.e., LSW) as issued by State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board in accordance with ORC 4757.28.

Substance Use Disorder treatment experience preferred.

Pursuant to ORC 4757.41 (A)(5) any person engaging in social work or professional counseling as a civil service employee as defined in section 124.01 of the Revised Code who has at least two years of service as of July 10, 2014 is exempt from current licensure as social worker (i.e. LSW) requirement.
