The Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) Program, within LM Space, provides launch processing support functions for our government customer. Key elements of the program scope include spacecraft launch preparations, spacecraft transportation operations, and processing facilities O&M. The primary operating location is Vandenberg AFB, CA, with support of other locations also required.
As a member of the team, you will be called upon to perform a variety of software development and operational tasks.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
The applicant will perform a variety of software engineering design tasks in support of the Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) contract at Vandenberg AFB.
Determines computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops utility programs.
Possible support to Operations at a factory location and the respective launch site may be required.
Applicant must be willing to travel and to work overtime and odd shifts if required.
Candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for an elevated clearance and access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience with programming in C++ on Linux and Windows.
• Familiar with data structures, lists, stacks, queues, circular buffers, and linked lists.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts: classes, interfaces, and inheritance.
• Familiar with GUI programming and networking architecture.
• Ability to work in a launch site environment, with the ability to climb stairs and evacuate the launch complex wearing breathing apparatus, if required
• Willing and able to support periodic travel, overtime, and alternate shifts, if required
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/Poly Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Familiar with full software development lifecycle experience
• Knowledge of embedded systems programming using the PC/104 platform and/or micro-controllers, TCP/IP and UDP, and Perl.
• Ability to perform software integration and test development activities
• Familiarity in a design, build, test environment: Test planning, test execution, technical test documentation experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $81,000 – $152,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
