The Boeing Company is looking for Software Engineers capable of contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification) to join our Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering organization in Everett, WA.
As a Boeing Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for working cross functionally to support the development and modernization of various software tools used throughout BCA in support of Engineering, Airplane Production, Delivery, and Customer Support. The individual will assist with the development and documentation of software requirements, architectures, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. The individual will also use software development best practices and tools and build, test, and deploy various software components and variety of environments, such as virtual machines, cloud microservices, or lab test hardware.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Mid-Level and Senior Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multiple teams and engineers to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate cloud-based interface solutions
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system using common software management tools and best practices
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Support Cloud Service network troubleshooting using tools and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and others
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Tracks and evaluates team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 2+ years’ experience in software engineering
- 2+ years’ experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in software engineering
- 5+ years’ experience with software development using Java, C++, Python, or equivalent
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience in developing network functions on major cloud systems like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Experience in professional software development, building large-scale, high performance systems and networking solutions using C++/Java, .NET Framework/.Net Core, Javascript/Typescript, Python, Node.js, and/or React
- Experience with object-oriented concepts and design patterns
- Foundation in data structures and algorithms, with advanced knowledge of IP communication technologies
- Experience in Networking system design and development
- Experience with Security Tools (F5, PKI, etc.) and Testing
- Database experience and integration with applications (ex: JPA, Entity framework)
- Experience in RTCA DO-178 (B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification
- Experience with Airplane Communication Systems
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: $90,950- $123,050
Summary pay range for mid-level: $112,200 – $151,800
Summary pay range for senior: $130,900 – 177,100
